Pioneering, award-winning, and distinguished consultant general and transplant surgeon, Professor Nadey Hakim has consistently broke new ground throughout his career. He is the British-Lebanese-Maltese Presidential Envoy at the Imperial College and Adjunct Professor of Transplantation Surgery at London’s Imperial College. As a specialist in obesity (bariatric), pancreas, and kidney transplant surgery, he started the first Pancreas Transplant Program in Southeast England and pioneered the finger-assisted nephrectomy technique for streamlining kidney transplants.
He was the British Surgeon on the International team which performed the world’s first successful arm transplant. Additionally, he is entitled as the first surgeon to be awarded the prestigious Max Thorek Professorship of Surgery. Professor Hakim’s academic awards and professional achievements are extensive.
